Culture minister Margaret Hodge and library campaigner Tim Coates will be interviewed on BBC Radio 4's "You and Yours" at midday today (Friday 30th October) for a feature on libraries.
Earlier this month Hodge confirmed that she was considering an "Amazon-style" home delivery service for libraries and suggested that they should sell as well as lend. She also announced delays to the publication of both the Library Service Modernisation Review and the inquiry into the Wirral library service.
Coates has been critical of her statements, commenting that "in no way should a library try to turn itself into a bookshop" and calling it "irresponsible" to delay publication of the Wirral inquiry's guidance.
