Hodder & Stoughton is promoting Miranda Hart's new book, Peggy & Me, by collating stories about her fans' pets into a free companion e-book.
Peggy & Me, a book packed with anecdotes from Hart about life with her shih tzu–bichon frise cross, Peggy, was formally announced in March and publishes on 6th October. It will be her second book after Is It Just Me? (Hodder & Stoughton).
The initiative to promote the book, launched today (20th July), invites readers to share stories about their pets, including a photo and using the Twitter tag #AndMe, that will enter them into a competition where the best stories will be illustrated and feature in a special "And Me" e-book.

A Twitter account was created for Hart's "canine best friend" last week, @RealPeggyHart, which has already amassed over 4,000 Twitter followers since Wednesday (13th July). It describes Peggy as "the best dog in the world", while one of "Peggy's" first tweets reads, "I do love my owner @mermhart. She is writing a whole book about me".
Hart said: “Peggy has been lovingly by my side through some life-changing moments and however surprising it sounds, I don't think I would have coped without her. More surprisingly she has taught me a huge amount - not how to get an old pie packet out of a bin and lick it (I could already do that) – but real lessons about life and love and trust and friendship. I would love to hear your own “And Me” stories whether they make me laugh or cry."
