Hodder Education acquires Galore Park

Hodder Education has acquired Galore Park, publisher of textbooks, revision guides and past papers for the Common Entrance market.

Galore Park, which is currently based in Tenterden, Kent, will relocate to Hodder Education's offices on the Euston Road in London. Owner and current m.d. Nick Oulton will work with the Hodder management team in an advisory capacity on contract for the next three years. A new publisher will be appointed to join the team at Euston Road.

Twenty staff members are currently employed at Galore Park. A Hachette spokesperson said: "We are aware some people may not wish to re-locate, but there are jobs and opportunities which we hope will be a match for those people who do wish to move to London for work."

Galore Park will remain a separate business within Hodder Education, in order to maintain and grow its particular focus on Common Entrance and related markets.

Hodder Education managing director Lis Tribe said: "I have known and admired Galore Park for several years now, and I am very, very pleased that Nick has chosen Hodder as the right home for his business in the future. I look forward to working with Nick and the Galore Park team in continuing to build on its success."

Oulton said: "Galore Park has grown rapidly over recent years and is now ready for the next stage in its development, within a larger educational publishing group. Hodder is a natural fit, and I very much look forward to working with Lis Tribe and her team to help take Galore Park to the next level."
