Hodder has signed Kirstie Allsopp for a "major" three-book deal, intending to position the "Location, Location, Location" presenter and home expert as a "domestic goddess".
Lifestyle editorial director Nicky Ross bought world rights in three books from Allsopp's production company Raise the Roof in a deal brokered by Luigi Bonomi at LBA and BBC Worldwide's director of talent and brand ventures, William Miller.
The first title, Kirstie's Great British Book of Crafts, will publish this autumn to coincide with an eight-part Channel 4 series provisionally titled "Kirstie's Crafty Britain".
Ross said: "Handicrafts look set to continue to be a growth area for non-fiction publishing as we re-discover the joys of craft and handmade gifts. Kirstie's Homemade Home was a huge hit for us last autumn so we're thrilled to be working with Kirstie again. She is such an enthusiastic champion of great British crafts and her new book will be packed full of practical projects to inspire everyone to have a go."
