Hodder & Stoughton has acquired Gino D’Acampo’s next Italian cookbook, Gino’s Hidden Italy, which accompanies a seven-part primetime series to be broadcast on ITV this autumn.
Lifestyle cookery publisher Nicky Ross struck the deal for world rights with Shirley Patton, head of publishing at ITV.
Ross said: "Gino has established himself as the go-to cook if you’re looking for simple but delicious Italian food. In his latest book and TV series he’s taking us off the beaten track and into the markets, kitchens and restaurants of Italy where the very best authentic Italian food is cooked. But don’t worry, the recipes in the book will still have Gino’s signature simplicity and they all work beautifully."
D’Acampo said: "I’m so excited to be sharing some recipes that I have discovered while travelling around Italy, this time to places not so well known, where I discovered some fantastico cooks and their secret dishes! They all come from the very heart of these traditional Italian homes - and I know you’re going to love them!”
Hodder has sold over 200,000 copies of D'Acampo's "Italian Escape" books over the past three years, according to the publisher.
Gino’s Hidden Italy is due to publish in October 2016.
