Little, Brown is continuing to acquire and reissue Patricia Highsmith’s backlist. However, as Donna Coonan, editorial director at Virago Modern Classics (VMC), said: “the rights situation is a bit peculiar”. 

Last March, Coonan and Ed Wood, senior editor for men’s commercial fiction at Little, Brown imprint Sphere, acquired e-book rights to Highsmith’s entire back catalogue, as well as a selection of print rights, making Little, Brown her main publisher in the UK.
