High street bookshops are confident about maintaining market share in the crucial countdown to Christmas.

Figures provided exclusively to The Bookseller from Kantar World Panel (KWP) showed high street retailers were ahead of their online and supermarket competitors as the Christmas buying season began hotting up. However, the high street led by a slighter margin than last year, as their online rivals narrowed the gap.
