Val McDermid, Reginald Hill, Peter James, Andrew Taylor and Sophie Hannah are among the high-profile names contributing stories to a collection of short stories to be published in aid of breast cancer.
Small independent crime publisher Crème de la Crime is producing the book, Criminal Tendencies (published this month, p/b, £7.99). "Most of the contributing authors have their own breast cancer story; at least one is a survivor herself, others have friends, acquaintances or family members who have contracted it," said the publisher.
All the authors have given their stories free of fees or royalties to support the cause and £1 from each book will go to the charity National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline.
