Headline's Cook joins S&S

Headline non-fiction publisher Carly Cook is to join Simon & Schuster as deputy editorial director of non-fiction, reporting to editorial director Mike Jones.

Cook will focus on popular memoirs, humour, music, pop culture and comedy, with particular emphasis on the commercial women's market. Jones said Cook, who has worked with titles including Confessions of a Working Girl by Miss S, Living with Evil by Cynthia Owen and Michael Heatley's Michael Jackson: Life of a Legend, had "a terrific track record" and would bring with her a wealth of experience and contacts across many areas of non-fiction.

Cook begins her new role in September.
