Headline's UK and international sales director Aslan Byrne is moving to Random House as sales director for Cornerstone.
Byrne will take up his new role in March 2013, reporting to deputy group UK sales director Ed Christie. Byrne will replace Rob Waddington, who has been promoted to the newly created role of deputy group sales director, international.
Byrne worked for Transworld, Random House Childrens Publishers and HarperCollins before joining Hachette in 2006. Random group sales director Garry Prior said he was "delighted to welcome someone of Aslan's considerable energy, experience and calibre to the Group".
Meanwhile Headline has promoted Barbara Ronan to sales director ahead of Byrne's departure. Ronan, who will report to m.d. Jane Morpeth, has hitherto been UK head of sales for Headline. Frances Doyle, currently head of online and digital sales, is also being promoted, to deputy sales director.
Morpeth praised Ronan's "passion, enthusiasm and energy" as well as her "determination and drive to building our sales." She said Doyle had transformed Headline's digital profile and grown sales in the area threefold, predicting: "Barbara and Frances will make a formidable partnership."
