Headline has acquired the rights to the autobiography of rugby player and "Strictly Come Dancing" contestant Kenny Logan.
David Wilson, non-fiction director at Headline, acquired British Commonwealth rights including Canada, but excluding the EU, for an undisclosed sum.
Headline fended off two other publishers to strike the deal at an auction held by Jonathan Conway, director of Mulcahy Conway Associates on behalf of Matt Jones, head of talent at Benchmark Sport.
Rhea Halford, assistant editor, said Headline was "really excited" about winning the auction.
Halford said: "Kenny's story is an unusual one. As well as being a Scottish rugby legend, his life has had many surprising ups and downs."
During his rugby career, Logan won 70 caps for Scotland as well as playing for London club Wasps for seven years. When trying his hand at dancing, Logan managed to come fifth, despite his poor scores on the BBC celebrity dance show.
The as-yet-untitled hardback, which is ghost-written, will retail at £18.99 and will be published on 3rd September, in time for Christmas.
