Headline has signed a "very substantial new contract" with author Simon Scarrow. The publisher described the deal as a "major commitment" to the writer's fiction, whose sales it cites at over 2.5m.
The contract will see further novels in his Scarrow's Roman series featuring Macro and Cato, as well as his fiction co-written with T J Andrews. The deal is also said to include "some exciting new projects" which will not be unveiled until next year.
Executive publisher Marion Donaldson said she was "absolutely thrilled to have agreed a new deal with Simon Scarrow, one of the most outstanding authors of historical fiction, who writes with such expertise, energy and authenticity against such a range of backgrounds, from the Roman Empire to Napoleonic Europe to sixteenth-century Malta." She added: "I'm so excited that we are starting a whole new chapter with Simon."
Scarrow's latest Macro and Cato novel, The Blood Crows, will be published on 24th October, while his series of five e-book novellas co-written with T J Andrews was published earlier this month in hardback, titled Arena.
