Headline acquires "Saturday Kitchen" wine man Smith

<p>Headline has acquired the first title by &quot;Saturday Kitchen&quot; wine expert Olly Smith, billed as &quot;an essential guide to matching good food with wine&quot;. </p><p>Non-fiction publisher Emma Tait bought the book from Gordon Wise at Curtis Brown for an undisclosed sum. The title will be released next spring as an illustrated hardback.</p><p>Entitled<em> Eat and Drink</em>, Tait said the book would explore &quot;the joy of flavour&quot; and is &quot;full of the colour and humour for which Olly is known&quot;. As well as wine recommendations, there will be a selection of Smith&#39;s favourite recipes, including some passed down through generations, and suggestions for a variety of food, including take away &quot;to have a drink with&quot;.</p><p>A regular face on BBC1&#39;s &quot;Saturday Kitchen&quot;, Smith also writes a column for the Mail on Sunday and writes for Sainsbury&#39;s Magazine. He also appears at food festivals.</p><p>Tait said: &quot;I am thrilled to be publishing Olly&#39;s first book. His enthusiasm is absolutely infectious, and we look forward to a long and happy relationship with him.&quot;</p><p>She added: &quot;Olly writes in such an entertaining and distinctive way, it makes you want to open a wine bottle right that minute. I think he has a brilliant rapport with people&mdash;I saw him doing a wine tasting at the Taste London festival in Regents&#39; Park last week and there was a real buzz.&quot;</p><p>The book will be published in &quot;stumpy&quot; royal format priced at &pound;14.99. </p>
