Headline Publishing Group has acquired the first book from "Gogglebox" stars Stephen Webb and Chris Steed, set to be published on 22nd September 2016.
Ex-partners Webb and Steed from "Gogglebox" are known by the show's millions of viewers for their humour, filthy language and adorable sausage dogs. In We Need To Talk they promise to take the reader through their experiences and share their opinions, through "hilarious back-and-forth conversations and killer one-liners".
Headline acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Ben Clark at LAW.
A spokesperson for Headline Publishing Group said: "Stephen and Chris are incredibly funny, and have become one of TV’s most recognisable comedy duos of recent years. We cannot wait to publish their book this autumn to coincide with the eighth series of Gogglebox."
Tania Alexander, director of Factual Entertainment at Studio Lambert, said: "Stephen and Chris are a huge part of Gogglebox and have delivered some of the funniest lines during all seven series of the show. This book brilliantly encapsulates them; providing a funny, insightful and entertaining peek into the lives of two very good friends."
Webb and Steed said: "This book is a lot like us – very honest, a bit cheeky and a good laugh. It's about life, love, loss and great friendship."
The deal follows the success of "Gogglebox" star Scarlett Moffatt's book Scarlett Says with Pan Macmillan imprint Boxtree. It has sold 21,231 copies for £177,878 through Nielsen Bookscan, the most of any of the "Gogglebox" books so far.
