HarperCollins has signed a two-book deal with Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell for her series The Carrie Diaries.
The deal was negotiated by Alessandra Balzer, vice-president and co-publisher of the Balzer + Bray imprint at HarperCollins with Heather Schroder at ICM. UK and Commonwealth rights, including translation, were bought by Rachel Denwood, publishing director at HarperCollins Children's Books UK.
Ann-Janine Murtagh, publisher at HarperCollins Children's Books, said: "We’re thrilled to have acquired a further two books by Candace Bushnell with our US colleagues. The young Carrie Bradshaw has endeared herself to readers everywhere and we can’t wait to read more of her new adventures as she grows up with her audience.
"We look forward to some exceptionally exciting publishing."
The first book in Bushnell's original two-book deal with HC, Summer and the City, will be published on 26th April in the US and 28th April in the UK. It is about Sex and the City heroine Carrie Bradshaw's first summer in Manhattan and how she came to meet Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte.
