HarperCollins has acquired two celebrity biographies by Sean Smith, in a deal with Gordon Wise of Curtis Brown.
Smith has previously written unauthorised biographies of celebrities such as Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Robbie Williams, both published by Simon & Schuster.
HarperCollins has not said who the subject of the first biography would be, but said that it will: "hit shelves in time for Mother's Day 2015 and promises to be an in-depth account of one of the UK's most notable celebrities."
Natalie Jerome, publisher for non-fiction, signed UK, Commonwealth, US and European market exclusive rights to the two books. She said: "I’ve long admired Sean’s work and so am extremely pleased to be able to bring him to HarperCollins; his passion and ability to delve beneath the surface of his subjects is what makes his books so engaging and riveting from the off. I can guarantee that his first title is as entertaining as it is revealing – nothing less than what you’d expect considering its subject is one of the nation’s most loved and well-known characters in entertainment today."
