HarperCollins non-fiction will publish a biography of Sir Tom Jones ahead of his 75th birthday this year.
Natalie Jerome signed rights to the biography and a further book from Sean Smith in October, but did not reveal the subject of the book.
Tom Jones - The Life, will be published on 12th March this year, ahead of Mother's Day. Jerome said: "‘I can guarantee that The Life is as entertaining as it is revealing – nothing less than what you’d expect considering its subject is one of the nation’s most loved and well-known personalities in entertainment today."
Smith said: "The life of Tom Jones makes an extraordinary story. It has all the intrigue, drama, sex and excitement of a television soap opera. I loved travelling to South Wales to meet the wonderful people who shared his early days. It felt like I was involved in an extraordinary biopic … the friendship with Elvis, the dealings with the mob, the ups and downs of his marriage to his teenage sweetheart. I particularly enjoyed discovering that Paul McCartney offered him a very famous song to record. You couldn’t make up a life story as big as this."
