HarperCollins has released an enhanced e-book app of the Booker Prize-winning Wolf Hall for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
The app costs £6.99 and includes the full novel, video interviews between Wolf Hall author Hilary Mantel and historian David Starkey, a cast of characters and Tudor family trees, and an essay by Mantel about the problems of historical fiction. It was released today (9th March), just days after the paperback was published.
There is also a free app available that includes the book's first chapter, a news feed and a short clip from the video interview.
Managing director of Harper division Press Books, John Bond, said: "The enhanced app for iPhone
and iPod touch gives us an opportunity to reach readers who want to experience the book in an exciting new way."
Peter Collingridge, from Enhanced Editions, which produced the app, said: "Releasing an enhanced edition of the most successful Man Booker prize winner ever shows the incredible growth and authority now associated with reading on iPhone and iPod touch.
"This is a book that defies simple categorisation and we expect it to gain a whole new audience now that it is also an app."
