HarperCollins Children's Books has signed a two book deal with author and illustrator Robin Jarvis. Editorial director Stella Paskins bought world rights from Philippa Milnes-Smith at LAW.
Dancing Jax is the first title and will be published in spring 2011. The book tells of the discovery of a strange and long-lost children's book, which has a powerful and sinister influence over those who read it. Details for the second title in the deal are yet to be confirmed.
Paskins said: "Robin makes a brilliant return to the dark side with this sinister tale of ancient magics infiltrating and influencing the modern world. We are thrilled to be working with him again."
Jarvis has previously written and illustrated several series for children including the Deptford Mice trilogy (Hodder) and the Tales from the Wyrd Museum trilogy (Collins).
