HarperCollins is to publish two new books by Alex Brown.
Kate Bradley, senior commissioning editor at HarperCollins, acquired world English rights for two books by Brown from Tim Bates of Peters Fraser and Dunlop.
Her first novel in the new contract, titled Holly’s Christmas Gift, will be published in autumn 2017 and tells the "life-affirming story" of a young girl who is determined to bring her estranged parents back together again.
Brown is the author of The Great Christmas Knit Off and The Secret of Orchard Cottage as well as the Carrington’s series of novels.
Brown said: "I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a brilliant team at HarperCollins and extremely proud of what we’ve achieved so far. I’m absolutely delighted to be continuing with Harper and excited about their plans for my books, their commitment to my writing and building my brand as they develop my career."
Bradley said: "I’m over the moon that we are continuing our long-established relationship with Alex Brown. Harper has championed Alex from the very beginning of her writing career and it’s been a joy to watch her succeed and grow. Holly’s Christmas Gift will play to all of Alex’s strengths – poignant and funny, emotional and uplifting as well as being perfectly pitched for the seasonal market – Alex has really carved out a name for herself and we’re so excited about the next stage in her career."
