Harry sweeps all before him

<p>Bloomsbury this week rushed through a second print run of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix after launch sales smashed all records. As stocks of the new book ran low, some high street booksellers bought discounted copies from supermarkets to sell on.

Nielsen BookScan put first-day sales of the book through the UK Total Consumer Market (TCM) at 1,679,753 copies, made up of 1,470,067 for the children's edition and 209,686 for Bloomsbury's adult version.
