Harry Potter Night 2016 to focus on spells

Harry Potter Book Night 2016 promises to be “bigger and better” than last year, this time with a focus on spells.

A Night of Spells has been organised by Bloomsbury Children’s Books as the theme for the second Harry Potter Book Night, which will take place on Thursday 4th February 2016.

This year international publishers will join in the event, which was initiated by Bloomsbury to “reawaken excitement” for the popular book series by J K Rowling.

A spokesperson for Bloomsbury Children’s Books said: “Whether it is the disarming Expelliarmus or the dreaded Avada Kedavra, spells are at the very heart of all of the Harry Potter books, making them a perfect focus for the second Harry Potter Book Night.

“With an updated event kit themed around spells and lots more exciting elements yet to be announced, once again fans of all ages will have the chance to celebrate J.K. Rowling's wonderful novels – and pass the magic on to young readers who haven't yet discovered these unforgettable books.”

The inaugural Harry Potter Book Night was in February 2015, for which 10,500 parties were organised and saw #HarryPotterBookNight trending on Twitter.

“Next year's event promises to be even bigger and better as international publishers join in the celebrations to bring Harry Potter Book Night 2016 to fans all over the world, making it a truly global event,” the Bloomsbury spokesperson said.
