HarperVoyager has acquired an epic fantasy trilogy by Peter Newman called The Deathless to publish in Spring 2018.
Natasha Bardon, publishing director, acquired UK & Commonwealth (excluding Canada) rights to the series from Juliet Mushens at UTA.
The concept for the trilogy revolves around "the deathless", nobles who can reincarnate through their children and grandchildren, displacing souls to live forever. So when Lord Sapphire is hunted by an assassin, it is not just his own life at risk, but the extinction of his entire line.
Newman is the author of The Vagrant, which won the Gemmells award for best newcomer in 2016, The Malice and forthcoming title The Seven (HarperVoyager). He also co-writes the Hugo-nominated "Tea and Jeopardy" podcast with his wife, Emma, and is the voice of the butler, Latimer.
Bardon said: "Peter Newman is a fantastically talented author and I’m so happy that we’re continuing to publish his work. The Vagrant was the debut of 2015 and I cannot wait for readers to get their hands on his new series."
Newman said: "I’m delighted to continue working with Natasha and the Harper Voyager team, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what people make of The Deathless. And to everyone who has bought, reviewed and supported my books, and by doing so made this possible: thank you."
