HarperFiction has signed two new deals with writers discovered through its digital-first HarperImpulse programme.
Debbie Johnson and Carmel Harrington were both originally published by HarperImpulse, which digitally published romantic fiction. Johnson has seen success with Cold Feet at Christmas becoming a Kindle number one, while Harrington's Beyond Grace's Rainbow was named the People's Book Award Kindle book of the year 2013.
Commercial women's fiction publisher Kimberley Young signed deals for Johnson and Harrington with Laura Longrigg at MBA and Tracy Brennan at Trace Literary Agency respectively.
Young said: "When we launched Impulse we wanted to find amazing new talent and Impulse Editor Charlotte Ledger has done a fantastic job of publishing these authors digitally and growing their audiences. We are thrilled to be able to work with Carmel and Debbie in the next chapters of their careers. I'm delighted we can now publish them on a traditional platform as well as continue their publishing through Impulse."
