HarperCollins signs exclusive deal with Chichester Clark

HarperCollins has signed a five-book exclusive deal with Emma Chichester Clark to become her worldwide publisher.

The deal with Chichester Clark, who has also had titles published recently by Andersen Press, was signed by children's publisher Ann-Janine Murtagh and Laura Cecil from the Laura Cecil Literary Agency. The deal will include a series of three picture books aimed at children aged 2-5 and two gift books.

The first book in the new deal, part of the Wagtail Town series, will be published in February 2012. The book introduces a new character, Lulu, described as "a little dog with big ideas". The second book is scheduled for release in February 2013 and the third in February 2014. HarperCollins signed character licensing and TV rights as part of the deal.

Murtagh said: "Emma is on sparkling form and we look forward to working with her on some exceptionally exciting publishing in the years ahead."
