Harper to fast-track paranormal romance series

<p>HarperCollins Children&#39;s Books will fast-track publication of Claudia Gray&#39;s paranormal romance series, Evernight, after signing a three book rights deal.</p><p>Editorial director Nick Lake bought UK rights from HarperCollins US editorial director Helen Boomer. <em>Evernight</em> will be published next month, with book two in the series, <em>Stargazer</em>, published in May and <em>Hourglass</em>, the third book, following in July.</p><p>Describing the series as a &quot;paranormal romance with a twist . . . and a razor-sharp bite&quot;, HarperCollins said the book was about shy teenager Bianca, who discovers that nothing at her new school is what it seems, including herself.</p><p>Lake said: &quot;Paranormal romance is riding high right now but vampires are Darwinian too... only the strongest survive. Claudia Gray&#39;s Evernight series is one that will stand the test of time.</p><p>&quot;It&#39;s huge in the US and rightly so - it&#39;s a fabulously immersive, involving story in the best teen tradition, and it has more than one shocking twist up its sleeve.
