Harlequin’s Mira imprint has acquired three novels in the Daisy's War trilogy, set against the backdrop of World War II.
The saga, by Merryn Allingham, charts the fortunes of working class Londoner Daisy Driscoll during the 1939-45 war period.
Commissioning editor Sally Williamson bought world rights to the trilogy directly from the author.
She said: “Merryn Allingham is an exciting new voice in sagas and I’m delighted to have found such a fantastic, emotionally engaging trilogy at a time when this genre is proving so popular in both the retail and digital markets.”
The first title, The Girl from Cobb Street, will be published on the 29th January 2015 with The Nurse’s War following in May and Daisy’s Long Road Home in August.
All three titles will be published in paperback and e-book.
