Halton joins United Agents

United Agents has appointed Margaret Halton as joint head of Adult Foreign Rights, alongside Linda Shaughnessy. She will start in her new role on 21st July.

Halton was previously a director in the foreign rights department at Rogers, Coleridge & White, where she worked for five years.

Natasha Fairweather and Linda Shaughnessy at United Agents said: “We are thrilled that Margaret is joining us. She has the depth of experience, the passion for books, and the imaginative approach to selling translation rights in the challenging and rapidly changing international publishing landscape which our authors need. Our authors are very lucky; as are we!”

Halton said of her move: "It’s difficult to leave valued colleagues and authors behind at Rogers, Coleridge & White, but this is a wonderful opportunity and one I just couldn't turn down. I'm much looking forward to joining the team at United."

Peter Straus of Rogers, Coleridge and White said that Halton had made “a wonderful contribution” during her time there, adding: “She will be greatly missed by all her colleagues and all our authors. We wish her all the best in her exciting new job.”
