Penguin Children's Group has created the role of acquisitions manager for its media and entertainment division, with Richard Haines moving from HarperCollins to take up the post.
Haines joined Penguin this month, and reports to publishing director Eric Huang, taking responsibility for finding up-and-coming media brands to grow the media and entertainment publishing list, and developing its existing properties, which already include Peppa Pig, Lego and Moshi Monsters, among others.
Huang said: "Rich's role as acquisitions manager for media and entertainment has been created due to the success of our TV and digital tie-in programme. With our ever-growing focus on digital storytelling, I'll be spending more time on new formats, collaborations with media partners and new ways to work with licensors. Rich has joined the Penguin Children's team to grow the licensing portfolio, looking for the next smash kids property, the next hit annual."
Haines had worked at HarperCollins for nearly five years, in a variety of marketing, brand management and licensing acquisitions roles.
