Hachette UK will sponsor two bursaries worth more than £600 for unpublished writers from underrepresented or low-income backgrounds.
The package for debut authors comes from Byte The Book, a network for authors and publishing professionals, and includes a one-to-one mentoring session with the Byte The Book team, including review and feedback on an agent submission, a workshop voucher to be used at any Byte The Book event and a ticket for one of its agents’ table events.
Justine Solomons, founder of the network, said: “We’re so pleased to work with the team at Hachette UK to present this package to talented authors who need a bit of guidance and support.”
David Shelley, c.e.o of Hachette UK, said: “We are very happy to be partnering with Byte The Book to provide two bursaries for unpublished writers from low-income or underrepresented groups. I hope that the tools Byte The Book offers will help nurture some of the literary stars of the future.”
Applications for the two sponsored spots are now open until 30th June 2022. Applicants should email info@bythebook.com with the subject line “Hachette UK-sponsored Bursaries for Debut Authors”.
