Hachette guns for Random

<p>Tom Holman</p><p>Hachette has set out to overtake a buoyant Random House as the largest consumer publishing group in the UK.</p><p>The French media group's acquisition of Hodder Headline last summer helped it leapfrog Pearson and HarperCollins to second place on The Bookseller's list of consolidated publishing groups for 2004.
