Sarah Clayton is to join Hachette Group’s international sales team later this month.
Clayton has spent the last three years working in Dubai as the senior buyer for Virgin Megastore Middle East. Before that she was a children’s buyer in Waterstones' head office.
She will join Hachette on 21st September as international sales manager, Middle East and North Africa (MENA), for the trade divisions.
Clayton will report to Matthew Cowdery, head of sales for MENA, who opened the Hachette office in Dubai in 2011.
Cowdery will be relocating back to the UK.
Ben Wright, Hachette Group international sales director, said of Clayton: “It is particularly pleasing for me to be able to add someone to the team with such a strong track record as we seek to grow sales from the newly enlarged children’s division.”
Wright joined Hachette in 2014 and is responsible for international sales of titles published by the Hachette UK group of publishers and titles published by Hachette Book Group and their third party agency businesses.
