Bloomsbury Children’s has acquired a YA novel about gaslighting and the blurred lines between love and control by Karen Gregory.
I Hold Your Heart, scheduled for release in July 2019, follows sixteen-year-old Gemma and her relationship with Aaron and explores coercive control in teenage relationships.
Commissioning editor Hannah Sandford acquired world rights in all languages, excluding the US, from Claire Wilson at Rogers, Coleridge and White.
Sandford said: “Karen writes extraordinarily moving, memorable stories, and this is her most topical, vital subject to date. The way she has handled it – pitch-perfect sensitivity married with a heartbreaking, irresistible wry humour – will get everybody talking.”
