SelfMadeHero is to mark the 200th anniversary of Karl Marx's birth with a graphic novel adaptation of The Communist Manifesto created by Guardian cartoonist Martin Rowson.
The new title will be an "incisive introduction to Communism and a lucid explanation of Marx's aims", according to the publisher.
"In our current era of political upheaval, 50 years on from the uprising of May 1968, Marx and Engels' revolutionary pamphlet remains one of the most influential and widely read works of political theory ever published", said the publisher. "Martin Rowson employs his trademark draughtsmanship and wit in this lively adaptation, which is both an incisive introduction to the ideas of Communism and a lucid explanation of its aims."
Managing director Emma Hayley added: "2017 has been an extraordinary year for SelfMadeHero. We've celebrated our tenth anniversary and have enjoyed tremendous success with books including Reinhard Kleist's Nick Cave: Mercy on Me and the hugely popular The Corbyn Comic Book. September was our most successful month of sales ever, and we have a lot to look forward to next year, from Martin Rowson's incredible adaptation of The Communist Manifesto to work by some of the UK's most exciting new comics talent."
SelfMadeHero holds world rights and will publish in May 2018.
