Granta Books has announced a follow-up to popular release Brilliant Maps. The new book will be titled Wild Maps: A Nature Atlas for Curious Minds.
Deputy publishing director Laura Barber came up with the concept and assembled a creative team to bring the book to life. Granta Books has world rights and publication is planned for November 2022.
The book will be compiled by Mike Higgins, illustrated by Manuel Bortoletti, and the creator of the original Brilliant Maps website Ian Wright is on board as a consultant.
Wild Maps: A Nature Atlas for Curious Minds will be a book for map lovers, for nature lovers, for environmentalists, and for those with an interest in all that is fascinating, eye-opening and awe-inspiring in the world. Maps will cover the entire globe, and readers can discover which migrating birds fly the furthest, which cities have cat cafes, which countries’ leaders don’t believe in climate change, and where some of the most famous now-extinct species were last sighted, as well as meeting the world’s oldest trees, the world’s most deadly fauna, and the world’s largest gatherings of cockroaches.
