Granta Books has acquired two new books from essayist Leslie Jamison.
Senior editor Max Porter bought UK and Commonwealth rights to Archive Lush and Ghost Essays on proposal from the Wylie Agency, while both titles in the US were acquired by Little, Brown.
Archive Lush is described as a "radical reinvention of the addiction memoir", combining Jamison's own story with those of others.
Ghost Essays: On Love and Loneliness will bring together memoir, criticism and journalism to explore the themes of haunting and obsession.
Porter said: "Leslie is one of the finest practitioners of the essay working today and she has an extraordinary mind. I love working with her and all of us at Granta Books are hugely excited to see how she grows and develops as a thinker and a stylist from the astonishing foundations of The Empathy Exams.”
The Empathy Exams, published by Granta, was a New York Times bestseller.
Release dates have not yet been set.
