Grace Dent to Leave Twitter for Faber/Guardian Books

Faber and Guardian Books have acquired a title by columnist and author Grace Dent about social networking phenomenon Twitter.

Guardian Books publisher Lisa Darnell and Faber publishing director for non-fiction Julian Loose jointly acquired world rights (all languages) to How To Leave Twitter: My Time as Queen of the Universe (And Why This Must Stop) from Karolina Sutton at Curtis Brown.

Dent joined Twitter three years ago, and in the title takes a "hilarious acerbic look at what’s really going on in Twitterworld", including the highs and lows of Twitter addiction, "Twanking", Twitter cliques, "Twitchfork mobs" and dealing with trolls.

Dent is a contributor to the Guardian and Marie Claire, has published 11 YA novels and has appeared on TV programmes including "The Culture Show" and "Film 2011".

How To Leave Twitter  will be published as an e-book on 26th May 2011, and as paperback original on 2nd June.
