Gollancz will publish a sequel to Inside HBO’s Game of Thrones, covering the making of the popular TV series.
The original book covered the first two seasons of the Emmy award-winning TV adaptation of George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, published by Harper Voyager. It will be titled Inside HBO’s Game of Thrones: Seasons 3 & 4, and contain 192 full-colour pages.
The first book, published in September 2012, has sold 37,482 copies through Nielsen BookScan. The next installment in the official companion book series will go behind the scenes to look at the creation of the show’s visual effects, never-before-seen set photos and production and costume designs, as well as in-depth examinations of key scenes and insight about the plot and production from the show’s cast and crew.
Inside HBO’s Game of Thrones: Seasons 3 & 4 is written by Cat Taylor, who has written for the “Making of Game of Thrones” production diary blog since 2010, and features contributions by show creators/executive producers David Benioff and DB Weiss, as well as George RR Martin.
The book will be available worldwide in autumn 2014 at a RRP of £20. The fourth series of the programme will air on Sky Atlantic in the UK in April.
