Science fiction and fantasy publisher Gollancz has partnered with London's Prince Charles cinema and mobile video game library the Gamer’s Bus on the second Gollancz Festival.
The festival takes place at Waterstones Manchester Deansgate on 16th October and Waterstones Piccadilly in London on 17th October, with events online on both days.
Gollancz is this year partnering with the Prince Charles Cinema, off Leicester Square, which will be screening “Minority Report” and “The Prestige” on 15th and 18th October. The films are based on books published by Gollancz – Minority Report by Philip K Dick and The Prestige by Christopher Priest. Gollancz said each screening would be preceded with a “short talk by the hottest new talents in SFF”. Each person attending will also get a Gollancz Festival goodie bag.
The publisher, an imprint of Orion, will also be working with the Gamer’s Bus, which will be bringing consoles and gaming PCs to Waterstones in both London and Manchester during the festival.
Headline authors at Gollancz Festival include Ben Aaronovitch, Joe Abercrombie, Charlaine Harris, Joanne Harris, Ursula K Le Guin, Sarah Pinborough and Nalini Singh.
Tickets for the events at Waterstones go on sale today (6th August) at 11am at an early bird price of £8 or £6 for Waterstones loyalty card holders, with the ticket price increasing to £10, or £8 for card holders, on 3rd September 2015.
