Gojimo hits £500k crowdfunding target

Exam preparation app Gojimo has reached its £500,000 crowdfunding target.

The app offers 50,000 free curriculum specific quiz questions, and content from publishers such as Oxford University Press and McGraw-Hill Education is available through in-app purchases.

Gojimo, which says it has 300,000 monthly active users, aimed to raise half a million through the London-based crowdfunding platform, CrowdBnk.

Founder and c.e.o. George Burgess, 23, said: "We’re delighted that so many people share our vision for the future of exam preparation. Twenty per cent of GCSE students used Gojimo this exam season and this money will enable us to begin expanding internationally.

"Our aim is simple: to be the number one exam preparation brand in the world, helping students achieve their full potential.

"As a company we pride ourselves in breaking with tradition and disrupting the norm."

The company previously raised more $1m in a seed round led by Index Ventures, which included participation by JamJarInvestments, the founders of Innocent Drinks.

Gojimo is still accepting money via CrowdBnk, until 8th July.
