World English deal for HarperCollins and Patricia Cornwell

World English deal for HarperCollins and Patricia Cornwell

HarperCollins Publishers has acquired world English rights to two more books by Patricia Cornwell.

The two Kay Scarpetta novels will be published by HarperCollins around the world, including in the UK, Australia/New Zealand, Canada, and India.

The first book will be published in the autumn of 2016, with the second following in autumn 2017.

The deal was negotiated by David Highfill, v.p. and executive editor at William Morrow with Esther Newberg of ICM Partners.

Cornwell moved to HarperCollins in the UK, where she is published on the HarperFiction imprint, from Little, Brown in 2013.

Julia Wisdom, crime and thriller publisher at HarperCollins UK, said: “Patricia Cornwell is a global phenomenon and a hugely influential thriller writer.  We are absolutely delighted – and honoured - to be publishing two further Scarpetta novels, following on from this autumn’s Depraved Heart.”

Highfill said: “Patricia is at the very top of her game and I speak for the William Morrow and global HarperCollins teams when I say that we’re tremendously excited to have two more Scarpetta novels to publish following Depraved Heart this fall. We’re just getting started.”
