Global campaign for Christie continuation novel

The forthcoming Hercule Poirot novel by Sophie Hannah has been sold into 29 languages and more than 50 territories by publisher HarperCollins and Acorn Productions.

Hannah's novel, currently untitled, will be the first featuring the Belgian detective for 39 years. It is the first ever Agatha Christie novel to be written, with the full backing of the Christie estate.

A global marketing campaign for the book will launch in May, described as a: "fully immersive campaign [which] will contain all the twists and turns of a classic Christie novel, putting the reader at its very heart. Executed by HarperCollins globally, it will combine an online narrative and real world experiences amplified via brand partners, social media channels and key influencers."

Christie's grandson Mathew Prichard said: “Agatha Christie would have been really honoured at the thought of so many people around the world enjoying a new Poirot story and I am certain that all those who read Sophie Hannah’s novel will be reminded of the ingenious character my grandmother created.”

The campaign is a collaboration between HarperCollins, Christie rights manager Acorn Productions, the UK based rights holding production arm of US media giant RLJ Entertainment, and Four Colman Getty.

The book will be published simultaneously worldwide on 8th September 2014.
