Glass sales hit one million

Writer Cathy Glass has reached one million in physical sales in the UK since her debut in 2007, Nielsen BookScan statistics show. E-book sales are also on the rise, according to HarperCollins.

The author, who is published by Harper NonFiction, has written nine "inspirational memoirs". As well as selling more than one million physical copies, Glass' e-book sales are now cited as close to the 150,000 mark.

Glass, who writes under pseudonym, is a foster carer who has looked after more than 100 children and runs training courses for other families looking to do the same. All of her books, from her first title Damaged, have appeared in bestseller charts.

Carole Tonkinson, publisher for Harper NonFiction, said: "Cathy's stories and writing inspire. We always knew that Cathy¹s appeal was wide. It is wonderful to see the books being taken up and becoming bestsellers not just in her home territory, the UK, but in Canada, Australia and the US."
