John Blake is to publish the autobiography of Gary Beadle, a star of MTV's reality TV show "Geordie Shore", titled Gaz (And My Parsnip): The Autobiography of Geordie Shore’s Ultimate Lad.
Commissioning editor Chris Mitchell signed World rights from IMA Ltd.
Mitchell described Beadle as “a very funny, down-to-earth guy, both on and off the show, and his wicked sense of humour comes across well" and he promised that "his fans won’t be disappointed” by the book.
"Geordie Shore" is the most viewed show on MTV and has already run for seven series. It follows the lives of a group of twenty-somethings from Newcastle and their tireless quest for fun. This is the first autobiography to come from one of the show's cast.
Beadle, who started his adult life as a tiler until being picked for the show at 23, said he was motivated to write the book because he wants people to see the "real" him. He added: “I am portrayed as a playboy party animal but there is so much more to me. At the start of the book I had £20 and no hope. I want people to see that dreams can come true.”
