HarperCollins is to publish the backlist of fantasy writer Alan Garner in e-book format.
The publisher will release nine of Garner's books, including The Weirdstone of Brisingamen and Elidor, simultaneously on 15th August, with each priced at £3.99. They will be available through Amazon and Apple.
Nick Lake, publishing director, said: "It is a real privilege for all of us at HarperCollins to continue a publishing relationship which stretches over half a century. We are delighted to bring Alan Garner’s iconic works to a new generation of readers for the digital age, while at the same time answering the demands of legions of existing fans who have been clamouring to read them in e-book format."
The release coincides with an exhibition at the Bodleian Library in Oxford called Magical Books, which features Garner's manuscripts alongside items from Philip Pullman, JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis.
Garner lives in Cheshire, and has won several awards, including the Carnegie Medal and the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize.
