Futurebook Award submissions deadline tonight

Submissions for FutureBook Awards close at midnight tonight (Friday 2nd October). The awards are handed-out at a special reception which takes place at the end of the annual FutureBook Conference, which this year takes place on 4th December at the Mermaid Theatre in Central London.

The awards look for excellence in the fields of digital publishing, and include categories for best digital book, best use of digital in a marketing or publicity campaign, digital achiever of the year, and digital leader. New awards this year include the FutureBook BookTech Award, and the FutureBook Platform of the Year Award.

The BookTech award forms part of the book tech showcase that will take place at the FutureBook Conference, curated by the culture and tech journalist Molly Flatt.

Judges for this live event are Hannah Telfer, group director of consumer and digital development at Penguin Random House UK; Dan Kieran, founder and chief executive of Unbound; and Eileen Burbidge, partner at Passion Capital and one of the UK’s most influential tech venture capitalists.

Judges for the FutureBook Awards include author Peter Meyers, Sandy Mahal, director of The Space, Lisa Edwards, former children’s publisher and now consultant at Redwood Tree Publishing, and journalist and apps specialist Stuart Dredge.

The FutureBook Awards shortlist will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Book Fair on Thursday 15th October, at 5pm, Hall 6.2 D22.
