Furlough must be 'flexible and part-time', says BA

The Booksellers Association has said the government's furloughing scheme must be flexible to "protect businesses". It comes as Chancellor Rishi Sunak is due to announce a cut-off date for employee furlough applications.

Sunak is expected to confirm employers will be required to pay 20% of furloughed staff wages from the 1st August, in addition to national insurance payments, as state provision is reduced.
