The Friday Project has bought Meatspace, the second book from Nikesh Shukla. Shukla's debut Coconut Unlimited was shortlisted for the Costa First Novel Award.
Scott Pack acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Jamie Coleman at Greene and Heaton.
Pack commented: “Nikesh is one of the most exciting young writers around and I’m chuffed we’ve been able to entice him to The Friday Project. He joins a growing list of innovative novelists we are publishing in 2014.”
Telling the tale of underdog protagonist Kitab Balasubramanyam, Meatspace is described as a hilarious and at times troubling analysis of what happens when our lives become an aggregation of shared content.
Shukla's first novel, Coconut Unlimited, was published by Quartet Books in 2010 to critical acclaim.
