France freight delays 'hugely problematic' for publishers

Publishers are experiencing severe delays to their stock deliveries, as France continues its freight ban imposed to contain the spread of the UK's new coronavirus variant. 

France shut its border on Sunday, causing massive delays, with the BBC reporting that close to 1,000 lorries were backed up near Dover last night (21st December). Independent publishers have been particularly badly hit, calling the ban "disastrous" as they wait both for titles to come in and for shipments to travel abroad.
