Following in Lonely Planet's footsteps, Frommer's will be bringing free destination guides via Aircell on American Airlines flights.
Lonely Planet recently launched a free destination guide service on Qantas airlines and now fellow travel publishers are following suit. Frommer's, an imprint of Wiley, will be hosting the destination guides, available via the airlines in-flight internet service, Gogo.
In-depth guides to American cities such as Los Angeles, San Fransisco, New York and Miami will provide real-time event listings, along with up-to-date weather forecasts and airport guides. Craig Schickler, director of e-business development at Wiley, believes that "this will enhance the
travel experience of passengers both in flight and once arrived in their destination".
